Yamaha Past Masters - TZR - Invitation.
John 'Jock' Walker kindly invited me to ride his TZR at Oulton Park in the Bemsee Yamaha Past Masters Race.
I hadn't ridden a TZR since 1988 when I won the JuniorStock British Championship on one.
I was interested to see if the memory was better than the reality...

We've entered in the EDI400 event as well to get a bit more practice on the bike. Just finished qualifying with them and managed 5th - but the bike has lost it's 'edge' from this morning. Got to try and find out what's up before our qualifying proper.
Thanks to John 'Jock' Walker for inviting me to ride his bike - we had a frenzied hour or so looking for the 'edge' - but we found it and lots of other broken bits and pieces in the stator - pleased to get pole position for him.

You guessed it. The rain came the exact moment we rode down pit lane. There was no point going out and getting the bike all dirty just for Ray to spend the night cleaning. Qualifying is at 9am tomorrow.

you can see how many different bikes I had raced in the '09 season. Had a couple of runs out in BSB SuperStk on Roy's 1198, raced Mark Hanna's GP450, rode lots of Chris Wilson's classic beauties and still found time to take 'Gordon' on holidat to Assen.

2006 was a stunner
a varied 2005 season offered lots of great photos for the calendar. From Euro events in GSXR Cup and Supermono to racing the 'other' Mike Edwards Raptor in Minitwins. Oh yes, and that was the year I smashed one of Garry McCoy's Petronas bikes to pieces.

Daytona boots!
Daytona Boots - great factory repair facility
I personally wouldn't wear anything else - but I do give them quite a hard time, with me riding many thousands of 'on track' miles each season when coaching and racing.In fact, on a coaching day I put my Daytonas on about 8am and they're then on for the rest of the day until 5:30pm!
I recently sent a pair back to the factory for repairs rather than ask
for a new pair of 'outers' - when they returned, I couldn't believe what
a fantastic job Helmut had done with all the repairs.
